Group recording scout

Today I joined Mark Stoeckinger (from Soundelux L.A.) and David Mackie (Soundelux U.K.) on a scout of the Pinewood Studios for an exterior group record. The group record was to consist of sixty or so people, half English and half French, somewhere in the back-lot of Pinewood Studios. The studios themselves are quite close to the M25 and you can hear highway wash everywhere you went. Plus, they’re shooting Harry Potter there so a lot of lot vehicles were driving around. We found a little corner in the back we deemed would be our best shot. From this corner we wandered back and found ourselves walking through a proper English manor garden. Pinewood Studios used to be an old manor estate and the gardens and manor house are still preserved. The manor house itself is used for administrative and restaurant purposes. The garden was quite nice. Before we left I snuck over to the Harry Potter sets to try and meet some folks but they we’re just set building. Nothing exciting…oh well.
