First Day in Apartment - Ealing

It is Super Bowl Sunday back in the States, for us it is cooking day and settling in. We woke up at 7am this morning so we could be ready for the Ikea re-delivery by 8am. Sure enough, they called from not too far away and were here by 8:10am. It took a little bit of doing for their truck to find a spot so they parked in the middle of the street. The driver liked to curse (in a Polish accent which made it better) especially since they put the 80lb package at the bottom of the delivery queue. We spent the rest of the morning using a PoundKingdom screw driver (Chinese) to try and put everything together. Major failure. We got the majority of the “furtniture” together except a bookshelf before the bits were stripped. So, we went to Robert Dymas (better bits) & M&S (dinner supplements) but not before we walked through Walpole Park across the street. Walpole Park was an old manor park and the manor house is still there. It was our first time in the park and it looks amazing, even in the overcast cold winter. It is complete with honeysuckle pergola gardens, large fields, tree-lined paths, micro river walk and refreshment stands. There is some nice history there and we can’t wait to make a multi-cache location out of it. After coming back from town with our stuff we finished off the bookshelves and finally made the place our own. From there Beckie made the soup from the chicken stock and I made the homemade pasta. We took a little break and had some tea with M&S Dark Chocolate Digestives (our first time for digestives) and wow it is really a treat. We spent the rest of the evening making meals and listening to music…and a movie.
